Jon and I hoisted as well, then Bob. The wind continued to rise as we approached a place called Little Cape Horn - across from Jones Beach (home of some of the finest wind surfing on the lower Columbia.)

We had some great sailing - topping 7mph at times, and usually in the mid-6 range. The wind gusted up to 15kts (17mph) and Rick dropped his sail while Josh put a reef in Sparrow's main. Bob kept his main up and we toyed with dropping the job to de-power a bit, but Jon said "Heck, we had it a lot worse at Sucia!" so we cracked on under full canvas (full polytarp, to be more accurate.)
