I have added straps for my handheld VHF and GPS, as well as a spot for my emergency beacon (barely visible on the right shoulder.) Besides the whistle attached to the left shoulder, the left pocket has bug spray, sun screen, and a folding knife. The right pocket has my camera on a retractable leash and my cell phone wrapped in a waterproof bag. If I fall out, all I have to do is call.
