The 'as designed' rudder is fixed, which causes problems with beaching and sailing in shallow waters. We solved these problems by making a swinging rudder. Its default position is Down (like when you are sailing,) held there by a bungee cord. The rudder is raised by pulling on a line that runs along the tiller.
