I quickly introduced Sean to the tradition of Buoy Slapping (flicking, in this case) where idiot captains sail up to channel markers so close they can reach out and touch the buoy. This is a very stupid thing to do - you can easily run afoul of the buoy and damage or sink yourself. Whoever was the moron who thought this up ought to be banned from sailing.
