The plans call for a clip-on, fixed depth, leeboard. We decided to go with an offset daggerboard to make the boat easier to launch and recover from the beach.

The daggerboard is hydro-dynamically shaped and held down with a bungee cord. When fully down, the daggerboard extends 30 inches below the bottom of the boat - providing excellent lateral resistance and windward ability.

In shallow waters, pop off the bungee and the daggerboard floats up to about half its full depth.
