Toots is a lovely, swoopy, lotta rocker, 10ft rowboat made from (2) sheets of 1/4 ply (I use 5.2m Luaun - $11/sheet at Lowes.) For the chines, gunnels, skids, and wood for the frame, I cut (1) 12ft 2x6 into 8 .5x1.5s. In accordance with the plans, I used a little less than 2ft of 2x4 for the stem, then, diverging from the plans, I made some thwarts out of pieces cut from (1) 8ft 1x4. I'll have a complete Bill of Materials at the end of this essay.

This photo shows attaching the sides to the frames. This is a bendy boat - as you will see. Also note that I have already attached the chines and gunnels to the sides - it makes for faster assembly, but it also stiffens up the sides so they don't bend as easy.
