Arranging parking for a week and getting people from the end to the start is an absolute logistical nightmare. It almost didn't happen. Then, I got in touch with the harbormaster of the Port of Astoria and he let us park in the Boatyard, and Ken R, one of the guys who wasn't going to be on the trip, volunteered to drive a van for us.

On the big day, my boat was being delivered to Beacon Rock, so I drove to the boatyard to smooth over any last minute hitches.

There were no hitches. The Port of Astoria and Ken R really came through for us.

Since there were no hitches, I had some free time and walked around looking at the boats. This one is a prime example as to why you need a bottom inspection before buying any boat.
