My boat is a 'swing keel' meaning you can raise and lower the keel by means of a winch and cable. The cable runs down through a flange attached to the deck and into the keel trunk where it attached to the keel. When I got the Aurors, I didn't know how it all worked, so one day I cranked the keel all the way up and ripped the bushing and flange all the way out of the deck.
