The trip ended when my outboard decided first it didn't want to engage the forward gear, then it decided it didn't want to start. We turned around and did a slow ghosting back to the docks at 2 knots. Of course, when I got home and put the outboard in a garbage can full of water, it ran like a champ. - started on the first pull, engaged the forward gear, everything. Such is my luck with outboards.
