I am reluctant to build this because, frankly, I am not this smart. I mean, people have been building and sailing boats for thousands of years. I am sure someone far more intelligent and far more skilled than I thought of this before.

People have pointed me to similar arrangements for catamarans and proas, but the concept is not the same - they shunt when they tack.

And, of course, I must mention that this pivoting bowsprit does not solve any of the issues with single handed tacking in a dipping lug.
