The OBX130 is a fantastic event to really get to know yourself and your boat. The navigation is fairly simple, the waters are protected, and while the barrier islands side of the Core Sound is remote and desolate, the mainland side has several small towns and villages where you can find help, if you need it.

The thing I love about doing events like this is seeing parts of America I never would have thought to visit. Plus, the added challenge of trying to figure out how to properly prepare and equip yourself for a multi-day adventure is something most people don't do every day.

Every time I step out of the comfort of my home, I am amazed by the depth of breadth of nature and humanity.

I had written a bunch of philosophical ramblings, but they really don't mean anything to anyone but me. Instead, I leave you with a list of GPS coordinates of our campsites.
