It is popular to snark and sneer at Disney, and I have my own problems with the Mouse, but I gotta say: They do it right. It is frightfully expensive and the blatant consumerism galls me, but the grounds are clean, the rides are safe, the employees are friendly and fun, and that's that.

You could go to some low end amusement park and ride a dodgy Tilt-a-Whirl operated by some tattoo covered ex-con trying to earn enough to get his next fix. It'd be cheaper, and if you don't mind having his greasy handprint on your wife's ass from his 'helping' her into the ride, you'd be ahead of the game.

We did get sick - but at least it wasn't from some blood-born pathogen from infected needles laying on the ground.

So snark at Disney all you want. It is your right as an American to voice your opinions (no matter how uninformed they may be.) Disney isn't my favorite vacation destination, but it beats a lot of other places I have been.
