My finely constructed craft, combined with my masterful seamanship, had allowed me to pull into the lead and round the far buoy first. My choice of Chinese Lug for the sail was proving its value: I knew the shape was causing confusion among the Western minds of my competitors and the sail was doing an excellent job of grabbing the wind.
