When we woke up in the morning, the wind was blowing harder than ever - easily 25mph. I could not see how Jason and I could make it. We'd be cut off from the rest of the group because we could not follow their route. We had no radio. It just wasn't possible.

We told John W and he nodded sadly and took off on his own. We went to Chuck and told him, and then sat around trying to figure out how to get Jason's wife to come pick us up. She was taking Brittany to watch sea turtles hatch and we'd have to just wait until 10am or so.

The wind started dying down, so rather than wait around, we decided to keep going. Jason got in my boat and we sailed down to his boat moored at Snoopy's.
