I put 2 more thwarts in the boat - one aft according to the plans and one forward where I would end the foredeck (if I was going to add one, that is.) In deviation from the plans, the thwarts are mounted flush with the gunnels - to make car topping the boat easier. The thwarts are screwed to small blocks that are themselves screwed and glued to the sides. This makes the thwarts removable, should the boats owner want to do something different.
