I removed all the screws holding the bottom to the chines while the glue cured, trimmed the bottom to match the sides, and attached the skids. The plans call for 2 skids, I like to use 3: one down the middle and one on each side spaced out about 8 inches. I figure most people will be stepping in the center of the boat or out to either side a bit.
