In 2004, I somehow talked Dad into going on a 5-day, 85-mile canoe trip retracing some of the Lewis and Clark trip. There I was with my crippled father, paddling downriver on the mighty Columbia. I will remember this trip 'til the day I die. A real highlight was paddling past the now decommissioned Trojan Nuclear Powerplant - which Dad helped build in the late '70s. That gaping hole in the dome is where they pulled the reactor out.
