Mate the surfaces and apply pressure. For this, I use #6 hex headed machine screws with a 3/4 inch fender washer and drive the screw into a piece of scrap behind the join. The fender washer disperses the pressure and keeps the screwhead from driving into the wood. Notice the glue gun in the upper right.
