During the race, we heard there was anywhere between 24,000 and 28,000 runners. We were packed together like sardines. The marathon runners split away for a while, then joined back up with us. That hairy guy to the left was a pace man for me, he had a timer that beeped his pace. We passed each other all the time and I kept track of him by his beeping.
