This picture appeared on the front of the Living section on June 24th as part of "The best pictures that didn't make it in the paper" feature. The small canoes weighed about 25lbs, light enough for the boys I had thought. I had forgotten Ryan only weighs about 40lbs. I gave him the canoe to carry to the water and about 2/3rds of the distance (50 yards?) he collapsed. Cody was carrying his canoe, but seeing his brother fall, he dumped it on me and ran over to Ryan to laugh and point. Don't be too upset with him, Keely, Dad and the photographer were all laughing, too.
