The government realizes the Wall is one gigantic money fountain. They spend gobs of money maintaining the Wall, especially the section we were on, the Badaling Section. They have installed speakers along the popular part and play Chinese music and sometimes bird recordings. The only birds I saw were magpies, and I don't think they were used in the recordings.
