Here is Keely at the Concubine's Well. One of the concubines of the Next to the Last Emperor was kind of uppity and ambitious. The Dowager Empress was packing up the palace for a move (fleeing?) and this concubine tried to assert herself and demanded to be taken along. Empress CiCi (Tzu Hsi or however you spell it - pronounce it "Susie" and you are pretty close) had enough. She ordered the concubine wrapped in a rug and stuffed down the well, where she died, was left for a year, and eventually removed and buried.
